Motorways, tolls and vignettes

What a vignette is: in some European countries you buy a permit before using the motorways, now often digital and linked to the number plate, valid for a set period instead of paying at toll booths.

Up to 3.5 t there are no tolls or vignette. The road usage fee mainly concerns heavy commercial vehicles and usually not private motorhomes.

Lights must be on during the day as well, all year round.

In winter, with snow or ice, you need winter tyres.
