Driving a motorhome in Malta
Driving on the left, no tolls and paid access to Valletta.
Motorways, tolls and vignettes
What a vignette is: in some European countries you buy a permit before using the motorways, now often digital and linked to the number plate, valid for a set period instead of paying at toll booths.
There are no tolls and no vignette is needed. Access to Valletta is checked by cameras and paid according to the time spent inside.
Environmental sticker, ZTL and low emission zones
There is no environmental sticker.
Low emission zones in our data
No low emission zones appear in our data. Still check the local rules in the towns where you stop.
Useful rules for motorhome travellers
You drive on the left.
Roads are narrow and parking scarce: plan where to stop before you arrive.
Information checked on 30 October 2026. Rules change: always check the official websites before you leave.
